My wifes family history.
by Robert Gale from Port Talbot South Wales.
30. December 2011
Iam writing to you on behalf of my wife Arlene Gale and her Grandmothers family named Mulholland.Due to a recent family bereavment we obtained a Marriage Certificate of my Wifes Great grandfather. The marriage was performed in Magherafelt on the 18th of February 1883. The marriage was between William John Mulholland a whose Father was a Farmer in the area and Mary Mccullough. We were wondering if any of the Mullholland or Mcculloughs still reside in the area who could be related to my WifeAny information will be greatly appreciated/Yours in anticipation. Robert Gale.

I was lucky enough to pay a visit to my home town of Magherafelt recently and took the opportunity to visit the centre with my oldest friend, Raymond Collins. What a fantastic facility. I sincerely hope and pray that the good people of Magherafelt take the opportunity to visit and support such a wonderful centre on a regular basis. Teas and scones were very tasty. Thank you.

Thanks for your query, if your daughter attends Holy Family PS or New Row PS she just needs to let her teacher know, if not contact one of the priests who will let you know when training for altar servers will next be available.

Unfortunately this year there will be no Irish Language Mass in the parish on St Patrick's Day as I am away at a wedding. There usually is each year but not this year.

I'm trying to track down details of my mother who was born and lived in Magherafelt until she went to London to train as a nurse. Her name was Agnes Inez O'Neill. She had 2 brothers, Mick and Eddie who we understand went to live in Belfast after getting married. There is some question as to my mother's exact date of birth, being either 21st or 25th January 1916. Any info would be a big help. Thank you. Please reply to camillem@fsmail.net
