PERMANENT DEACON APPOINTED TO     THE PARISH OF MAGHERAFELT & CASTLEDAWSON

   

Kevin Duffy, native of Clonoe, in his mid-40’s, has been     appointed by Cardinal Brady to the Parish of Magherafelt &     Castledawson.  Kevin will be ordained     in the Cathedral in Armagh on Sunday 14 September.  A Permanent Deacon can carry out all the     functions of a priest apart from the Consecration of Mass &     Confession.  Kevin is married to     Mairead and has two young children.      He will speak at all Masses over the summer to introduce himself and     the Permanent Diaconate to parishioners.      I am sure that you all will make him feel very welcome in our     Parish.
