BUILDING FUND RAISES £129,000 IN TWELVE MONTHS
The Parish of Magherafelt & Castledawson is well known for the generosity of its parishioners and yet again that generosity has been well displayed in our twelve months building collection. I wish to thank everyone for their outstanding contributions during difficult times. I have been overwhelmed by the response of parishioners which has not only covered the cost of the work to Our Lady of the Assumption Church but also reduced the parish debt considerably. Go raibh maith agaibh.
Fr. John Gates PP.
PERMANENT DEACON APPOINTED TO THE PARISH OF MAGHERAFELT & CASTLEDAWSON
Kevin Duffy, native of Clonoe, in his mid-40’s, has been appointed by Cardinal Brady to the Parish of Magherafelt & Castledawson. Kevin will be ordained in the Cathedral in Armagh on Sunday 14 September. A Permanent Deacon can carry out all the functions of a priest apart from the Consecration of Mass & Confession. Kevin works as a joiner, is married to Mairead and has three young children. He will speak at all Masses over the summer to introduce himself and the Permanent Diaconate to parishioners. I am sure that you all will make him feel very welcome in our Parish.
PARISH PILGRIMAGE to the Mass Rock in Glenshane Forest takes place today.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
More volunteers are needed for the Eucharistic Adoration; if you are able to help please contact Sr. Caitriona.
