GRATITUDE

Lent… must be a time of conversion that     flows out of gratitude for all that God has given us; for all that he has     accomplished and will continue to accomplish in the world, in history and     in our personal lives.  Our gratitude     must be like Mary’s, who, in spite of all the sorrows she had to endure,     did not cast down her eyes in defeat, but instead sang of the greatness of     the Lord.

Reflection: Write     a list of 10 things you are grateful for.      Take time to thank God for each one.

‘She must be a woman known     for her good works, whether she has brought up her children, been     hospitable to strangers and washed the feet of God’s holy people, helped     people in hardship or been active in all kinds of good work.’ 1 Timothy 5:10.

Trócaire’s Lenten campaign 2015 highlights the     injustice faced by many in the developing world.  Sunday 8     March is International Women’s Day and we remember the countless     women who are supported by Trócaire in the developing world who work     tirelessly to improve their communities, often at great personal risk.  Find out how to help at www.trocaire.org/lent.
