Set in the heart of the community the newly built Magherafelt Parish Centre offers a wide range of facilities for use by the entire population of Magherafelt. Located in King Street, the Centre has an impressive view of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Throughout the split-level building careful planning and design has allowed for a spacious yet modern, fully accessible community centre.

The centre was officially opened on Sunday 13th September, 2009, when the parishioners of the parish had the opportunity to explore their new community facility (for a review of the Official Opening click here).  It is anticipated that over time the Centre will play a key role within Magherafelt and the surrounding area offering a range of group activities, social entertainment and events to promote and encourage community spirit and involvement.

The Centre itself has a wide range of excellent facilities.

These include:

O’Byrne Hall – Named after Monsignor Chris O’Byrne, former Parish Priest, this state-of-the-art hall can comfortably seat up to 400 people.  The hall is equipped with a movable stage and impressive lighting and sound systems.  It is expected that the hall will accommodate concerts, dances and plays within the parish along with conferences, bowls and other activities.
